What to Pack for a Boat Trip in Hurghada
Six things people forget, and one thing almost everybody over-packs.
The list
- Reef-safe sunscreen. Oxybenzone bleaches coral and is banned on several reefs.
- A rash guard or long-sleeved shirt. Six hours of reflected sun burns shoulders through any factor.
- A light jacket. The ride back at 4pm is windy and you will be wet.
- Cash in small notes. For the island entry fee, drinks and tips.
- A dry bag. Phones and spray do not mix.
- Motion sickness tablets. Take them before boarding, not after.
What you can leave behind
Towels. Every boat carries them, and a wet towel in your bag is the least pleasant souvenir of the day.
